HISPANIC MINISTER / MINISTERIO HISPANO

CLAUDIO VALENCIA
Claudio Valencia and his wife Celia are excited to be here in the Muskogee and surrounding areas. The Valencias have served several years on the mission field in Costa Rica and Mexico developing and implementing strategies with IMB missionaries and also planting and pastoring churches, leading adult and children Bible studies and, supporting and encouraging local pastors in the area. Claudio is first and foremost a missionary to the Hispanic population but in his own words he will tell you that his greatest joy is to “see someone receiving Christ as Lord and Savior, no matter the color of the skin or nationality.” Most recently after coming back to the United States, Claudio was serving as a bi-vocational pastor in Cape Girardeau, MO at a small mission church before being called to the Association here in Oklahoma. The goals for the Hispanic ministry is to start new congregations and also to work with other MBA churches either to start new works, or strengthen existing Hispanic works while developing leadership within the new planted churches. It is also Mr. Valencia’s desire to develop missionary trips overseas especially to Mexico and Central America, and of course to GO and be a part of those mission trips.Celia is very much involved in the ministry. Besides her many duties as a minister’s wife, she is teaching women’s Bible studies and Sunday School. The Valencias have three children, Samuel (17), Daniel (16), and Ian (11).
